Track Your Blood Glucose: to shape healthier habits for your immediate and long-term health.

Checking in on biomarkers such as blood glucose can provide invaluable insights into your health & immediately guide you towards healthier habits to benefit weight loss, energy levels, hormonal, cognitive and cardiovascular health and all around well being.

Using a Lingo, a wearable continuous glucose monitor (CGM), is the easiest way to track glucose across the day, without the need for finger pricks. Within a few minutes of opening the Lingo box, you can start to learn how your body responds to food, exercise, stress, hormones and sleep patterns by syncing the Lingo app on your phone to a sensor you wear on your arm.

For those that are squeamish about needles, there’s no fear here, the tiny canula in the sensor can’t be felt (honestly) and attaching it is a really simple process.

You’ll get amazing real time glucose data, but to really benefit from the experience, I’d recommend you work alongside a nutritionist with expertise in blood sugar management, like myself, to gain even deeper insights and benefits.

We’re all unique and you might be surprised at what you find; from discovering non-food related spikes, where stress might be in the background to the learning that the juicy satsumas you enjoy as a mid afternoon snack on pushing up your count for the day.

The benefits of this new found knowledge are tenfold.

A practitioner can add maximum value by analysing your blood glucose data for deeper insights.  They can work with you to translate  findings into every day language, explaining how & why your blood glucose might follow certain patterns and empower you to make changes for immediate effect, whilst carefully monitoring your progress.

Here are some examples of changes you might be asked to make:

  • Optimise your protein, fat and fibre at breakfast to blunt a repetitive morning spike which follows with a crash in energy.

  • Selecting carefully chosen supplements such as magnesium to increase your insulin sensitivity if insulin levels are raised.

  • Changing your meal timings across the day to avoid blood sugar dips at work to help with your performance and mood.

Whilst learning how these changes are benefitting  you, the language used will be carefully chosen to avoid the risk of categorising foods as good and bad, to promote a positive relationship with food & to prevent anxiety.

Using a CGM such as Lingo is easy to do, it’s simple, pain free, not to techy and it isn’t overly expensive at £59.99 for 2 weeks of invaluable insights.
