Benefits of Dark Chocolate


🍫 Enjoy your chocolate this weekend 🍫

There is just one catch… to get any health benefits, it needs to be dark rather than milk chocolate.


… so don’t turn to Cadbury’s (sorry!) Instead look for a quality dark chocolate, with a high cocoa content of 70% or more, such as @valhrona


So what are the benefits?

Made from the seeds from Cacao trees, dark chocolate is rich in:

⭐️Antioxidants, which protect our cells from harmful free radicals such as pollution.

⭐️Magic magnesium, which we deplete when we are under stress & very much need for our sleep, mood & blood pressure.

⭐️Plus Iron, Copper and Manganese.


Compared to milk chocolate, dark chocolate doesn’t cause your blood sugar levels too spike very high - a lovely little bonus.


It also contains up to 2-3 times more flavanols, which are involved in the production of nitric oxide (NO) in the body, for healthy blood pressure.
